The Holly and the ivy are brown and they’re dying Jolly old Saint Nicolas is face down crying Forgotten, tarnished silver bells you can’t hear them peeling And joy to the world is not what we’re feeling The glitter and magic of Christmas has gone Joyless, rusted jingle bells sit silent and sleighless The rise of the Grinch topples good King Wenceslas Our marshmallow wonderland is blackened and toasted And chestnuts on an open fire are mouldy not roasted The glitter and the magic of Christmas has gone Frosty isn't jolly with climate warming The calm silent night's quelled by retail swarming No Christmas cards bare Jesus or Mary the virgin Rudolph's red nose has been fixed by a surgeon The glitter and magic of Christmas has gone We can bring back a glittering Christmas Let’s clap and stamp our feet with jolly St Nicolas Hark, can you hear the Glam angels sing There’s David, Marc and Alvin and together we’ll bring …. A magical, glittering, Christmas

about

…In the Middle Ages, groups of ‘Wassailers’ went from house to house singing for the purpose of joy-spreading and entertaining throughout the bleak winter period. In the early 1970s, groups of 'Glam Rockers' took to the airways to spread joy to a grey, dispirited England. This Christmas, 'Sir Prize and the Twomorrow Knightz’ ride the galactic airwaves to bring joy and magic in a dark, glitterless world with the epic ‘ A Glittering Christmas ‘…All Hail ! Sir Prize !

This magical Christmas song is available for the season in instalments from Bandcamp. Choose Part One, Part Two or go for the whole, bleeding thing!
You won’t regret it boys and girls.

A Dobbins-Izzard Production

Tis the season to be jolly and so this is the Christmas song from our fictional, cartoon-like band ‘Sir Prize & The Twomorrow Knightz’. It’s a rather epic two-parter with a melancholic beginning ending triumphantly with the world a more magical, glittering place. Featuring the voice of Robbie Quine as Sir Prize it evokes the past, present and future of Christmas songs and what we love about a good, Christmas sing-song.

Sir Prize & The Twomorrow Knightz

...now immortalized as cartoon characters The Twomorrow Knightz are actually US lyricist Gregory Dobbins, owner of Dandy's Stardust Dive Internet Radio station and UK's Tim Izzard, songwriter and musician.

Gregory has played Tim's solo music on his station for the last few years. A friendship developed over a love of pop music leading to this fanciful project became a fictional reality!
